New affordable housing units coming to Kenmore

1 hundred very affordable housing units, like studios and a single-bed room residences, will be crafted in downtown Kenmore, in accordance to a release from the town.

The city is partnering with the Plymouth Housing Team to establish the models in the 6500 block of Bothell Way Northeast.

The expense-productive models will be superior-high-quality and sustainable. They will serve seniors, veterans, those with disabilities and formerly homeless people today.

The city of Kenmore gained a few proposals to construct very affordable housing and chose Plymouth, which has worked in the area for 40 years to tackle homelessness.

“It is important that we make bold investments now to improve economical housing for our region’s most susceptible neighbors. We seem ahead to partnering with the City of Kenmore and ARCH to give 100 models of new long-lasting supportive housing to seniors and veterans in the city’s downtown space, in which people will have uncomplicated access to grocery shops, healthcare facilities, community transportation and other amenities that lead to wholesome living,” reported Karen Peterson, Chief Authentic Estate Officer at Plymouth Housing.

The metropolis of Kenmore will use $3.2 million from its American Rescue System Act cash and donate metropolis-owned property for the project. It is also partnering with A Regional Coalition for Housing, which accredited $3 million to enable construct the housing.

The believed value of the whole project is $37.5 million.

Building is set to commence in mid-2023, with an opening envisioned for December 2024.
