The period house is on Grey Road, off Rice Lane, and benefits from being close to handy public transport links and local shops.

With a guide price of £50,000, the property is cheaper than the average five bedroom house in the area.

The home is in need of extensive refurbishment throughout but is described as having ‘potential’ to be a family home or flat for those wishing to become a tenant.

Joel Faugh, auction manager at Taylor James Auctions, said there are many benefits to buying a property at auction.

He said: “Having been involved in the auction industry for nearly two decades I have always found the most attractive thing about purchasing at auction is the speed and certainty.

“I receive so many phone calls from buyers frustrated at purchases which have fallen apart on the open market after spending time and money trying to buy a property.

“At auction this doesn’t happen as if you are the highest bidder you have bought a property with immediate exchange and completion within a month.

“There is no messing about or pulling out, which means you can have the peace of mind that you have successfully purchased a new property.

“With auctions now solely taking place online it is a lot easier as well for buyers to get involved and those who previously found the idea of bidding at auction quite daunting are now finding they can do it from the comfort of their home or office.”
