Whistler’s Best Summer Hangout Spots
[ad_1]
Living in Whistler and Pemberton, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to the best places to hang out in the summer. There are endless options to satisfy every skill level, whether you’re looking for the perfect patio drink or the best spot to jump in the water! Here are our top local picks from our dedicated agents who live, work and play in the area.
At The Water
This one should come as no surprise – because what better way to cool off then to hang out by the shores of one of our many spectacular lakes! Pack a picnic and walk from the Village to sit by the shores of Lost Lake, bring your dog to his own cool down spot at Alta Lake or go for a float down the River of Golden Dreams, the options are endless. There are no shortage of paddleboat, canoe and kayak rentals in Whistler – and with the return of Whistler’s Park Eats program, you can even enjoy some delicious eats at several shore-side locations. For some of our favourite Whistler Lakes, go here.
On The Patio
What better way to end the day than with a delicious beverage on the patio! In Whistler, there is no shortage of great spots to sit and relax with good company while taking in the views. For those looking to grab a drink with epic mountain views, head up the gondola and sit at the umbrella bar. If you’re interested in people-watching, grab a spot at one of the many restaurants on the Village Stroll. If you’re interested in sunshine and shoreline views, head to Nita Lake Lodge to grab a spot on their patio or over to Table Nineteen – if you’re lucky, you may even catch a float plane coming in for landing on Green Lake!
On The Greens
Golf is a big summer sport in not only Whistler but the entire Sea to Sky Corridor. Many of our realtors are no strangers to the greens, and we’re very fortunate to have some of the most scenic holes right in our backyard. With three to choose from right in town: Whistler Valley Golf Course, Fairmont Chateau Golf Course, and Nicklaus North Golf Course, they each have their own unique holes, views, and restaurants to keep you entertained all day long. A quick 20-minute drive North of Whistler will land you in Pemberton with two more golf courses to choose from, with jaw-dropping views of Mount Currie!
If you’re ‘greens’ is one of the food varieties, Pemberton is the place to be! Take a drive along the Pemberton Meadows Road and support the local farm stands or stop by North Arm Farms to pick your own berries. Both Whistler and Pemberton host weekly summer markets, so be sure to check those out!
On The Trails
Summer in Whistler wouldn’t be complete without navigating a few trails! With mountain bike season in full swing, head up Whistler to check out how the terrain varies from winter, or keep is casual and go for a pedal on the Valley Trails to take in the sights and smells of nature. If two wheels isn’t your cup of tea, pack your hiking boots and explore one of the many alpine trails (hint: alpine flower season is our favourite time of year!). Just remember to plan and pack accordingly and play within your limits.
